SPH (Sphere)

Spherical error, or overall power of lens is the basic part of your prescription. A (+) means you have trouble seeing near, and a (-) means you have trouble seeing things faraway.

CYL (Cylinder) & Axis

A cylinder value indicates astigmatisms or perpetually blurry vision. Axis—measured between 1 and 180°— tell us the orientation of the astigmatism

ADD (Addition)

This number is sometimes written NV for near vision and is used for multifocal lenses and readers

PRISM

We can process prism prescriptions to correct eye orientation

Vertical Prism is used to help correct vertical eye misalignments and is prescribed in opposite directions for both eyes

Horizontal Prism is used to help correct lateral eye misalignments and is always prescribed in the same direction for both eyes

PD (Pupillary Distance)

It's just what sounds like—the distance in millimeters (mm) between your pupils. An average PD measurement is 63 mm, but varies by person. If it's not on the prescription, you can measure it yourself by:
• printing the downloadable PD ruler.
• watching our tutorial video.

    Matte Grey Eyeglasses

While the term “grey eyeglasses” makes it seem like there’s only one shade available, this could not be farther than the truth. Our collection of over 1000 frames includes grey eyeglasses that are transparent, striped, and more! One example can be found in one of our most popular frame colors yet: matte grey eyeglasses.

Matte grey eyeglasses are (you guessed it) grey eyeglasses with a voguish and muted tint. Their cool color palette makes them a perfect choice for Summer outings, but when combined with the right outfit they can be adapted to Winter and Fall looks as well.

    Mens’ Grey Eyeglass Frames

Mens’ grey eyeglass frames are modern, subtle, and most importantly: classy! While the standard assumption is that this hue is only suitable for the business office, you’d be surprised to find out that casual urban outfits flourish with it as well. They’re the perfect accessory for nearly any situation.

Here are just a few ways you can use mens’ grey eyeglass frames to your advantage:

    • • Grey eyeglasses work best when worn in tandem with other monotone colors. Black coats, white shirts, and grey scarves will all work perfectly to unify your look. Coordination is key!
    • • Looking for the perfect pair of grey eyeglasses can be a hassle. Use our face shape guide to narrow down your options to see which ones will compliment your unique facial features to cut down time.

    Womens’ Grey Eyeglasses

A sleek choice in womens’ grey eyeglasses can completely update your outfit’s style. What was originally a drab, uninspired wardrobe choice can turn into a refreshingly cool aesthetic.

Read on for some useful tips on using womens’ grey eyeglasses to their maximum potential:

    • • While grey eyeglasses work well with nearly every hair color imaginable, they work best with hair tones that are more vibrant or bright. If you happen to have red hair or any kind of brightly dyed hair, a classy pair of womens’ grey eyeglasses can become a huge fashion statement.
    • • Feeling retro? Embrace your vintage side with some grey metal glasses. These are a staple fashion choice for urban adventurers and fashionistas alike.
